SET / Drop RENTALS
We have a large inventory of scenery available for rent. All scenery is rented in complete packages only. We can not rent individual items from full sets. All of our scenery is stored in Tractor Trailers, 28' - 53'. Several shows are stored in 2 trailers. We provide trucking, or you can arrange to have your trucker pick up at our yard in Manorville, NY.
Some scenery and props were constructed in our own scene shop. Others were obtained from outside sources (Broadway, National Tours, Regional Theatres, etc.) Ideal stage dimensions are 34'-45' Proscenium opening with a 16'-22' height and 25' of stage depth. Many sets can be adapted for your unique venue characteristics.
We rent to many different types of organizations ranging from High School Productions, to Community Theatres, to Professional and Touring Productions. Pricing varies based on specific show rented, length of run, ticket price, and distance from NY. All rentals include a Gateway technician at the load-in AND load-out. There are NO exceptions to this rule. Transportation and housing for the technician must be provided by you. We normally provide the trucking but as mentioned above, you may elect to contract this out on your own.
Many people have asked to include pricing on the web site. This is difficult due to the unique details of each rental. As a base line, you can figure $8,000.00 as an average rental price for a one truck show, short run at a small theatre. Transportation costs are additional. Occasionally we can work out special prices for very short runs (high schools, etc.) or for multiple show deals.

Traditional unit set with rich wood tones. Separate unit for Jefferson's bedroom. Has a painted deck, independence hall exterior, and Constitution scrim. All furniture and tables provided for the interior of the hall as well as vote tally board.

Touring set. Drops include Money, Backstage 42nd Street, Backstage Arch Street, Arch Street Exterior, Dames, Broad Street Station, Pretty Lady Scrim, Pink Scrim. Light-up and chasing signs for ballet. Large units accompany many drops. A versatile set. Good for many spaces.

A CHORUS LINE
Includes 8 periaktoi 4' x 16', and hand crank winch for rotation. The three faces are black, Mirror (actual Broadway panels, recovered) and the finale (starburst) side. You must be able to fly or lift a 2,000 pound truss to rent this set.

AIDA
2 arched wagons revolve around a center Dias. Fully motorized and computer controlled. Center of Dias has pool containing hidden fountain, also acts as receiver for waterfall effect. Many flying pieces some rigged with solenoids for quick release effects. Downstage area is a sand box - can be covered over by revolving "surfboards."

BEEHIVE
Two motorized downstage turntables have revolving platforms and walls similar to what was used in The Dating Game. Upstage band unit lives in front of 16' x 35' Juke Box rear wall. The wall lights up and can do random color chases. Large light up "TINA" sign.

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF
This set was renovated and re-painted in 2002. Similar to the original Broadway set. House opens to reveal the interior, and exterior has many different sides. Limited use of flying scenery. Tavern is an additional unit. Restored milk cart for Tevye and many hard-to-find old props.

Beautiful set originally designed for the 2003 National Tour of “Some Like It Hot” staring Tony Curtis. This was a 4 truck show that has been condensed into 3 Trailers. If you leave out the automated deck, the set can travel in 2 trailers. The drops and scenery are stunning. The photos were taken on a very small stage. The drops measure 28x50 – only a portion can be seen in the photos.
