\ A light moment- prepping for college auditions 2011
SPECIAL CLASS—for High School Juniors and Seniors auditioning for College and University Drama Departments.
A final coaching workshop to jump start the college audition period. For those not already taking a monologue study class, you will need to be prepared for this workshop, by choosing several monologues or songs that fall into the categories specified by the colleges you are planning on auditioning for. If you are gearing up for auditions in 2014, there will be a full class dedicated to this in the Fall Session, 2013. All Colleges and Universities have their own individual requirements in length, style, period and genre. At this workshop we will not be able to chose new material for you, but we will be able to choose the strongest pieces from the ones you bring along. This class is unlike any you will find anywhere. For Gateway's Main Stage productions, we audition and hire those who have graduated from the schools we are guiding our students to audition for. We know and understand what the schools are looking for and the talent and skill necessary to make an impression at these auditions. As professionals who have been on both sides of the table, we know what casting departments and agencies look for when making decisions on casting and who to represent respectively. We can help you rise to your full potential. Class members should come to this workshop with choices of material. These pieces are then critiqued to meet the standards of competitive auditions. You will be coached by several instructors and a guest Casting Director on your performances. You will be able to rehearse your work on stage. This workshop took place this year-2013.MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON THE LIST FOR NEXT YEAR BY EMAILING COLLEGE WORKSHOP and we will keep you on the list.
